Cassandra's Bridal Shower

Cassandra’s Bridal Shower

Cassandra’s Bridal Shower

Today was a very special day in the Stuart household – the bridal shower of my beautiful sister-in-law, Cassandra. You might remember my previous posts about Cass and Tom’s engagement party, and also my visit to the Rocklea Flower Markets for Cassie’s wedding.  Today was the final big event before the big day on April 18th!

The shower was held at my mother-in-law’s house. I had my own bridal shower held at my mother’s house and to be honest, I really think it’s the way to go. It’s lovely to have everyone in such a comforting, familiar environment to the bride, reminding her of where she has come from as she prepares to take the next big step in her life.

Cass’s bridal shower was a casual but elegant affair, with a beautiful array of decorations and an abundance of delicious treats, including gourmet mini pies, quiches, caramelised onion tartlets, apple tea cake, caramel banana muffins, chocolate slice and the list goes on! There was plenty to go around and we enjoyed our nibbles accompanied by fruit punch, sparkling water, and not one but three types of delicious tea!

After some hilarious games, (including a peg game where we couldn’t mention the words ‘wedding’, ‘bride’, ‘groom’, ‘honeymoon’, ‘marry’ or ‘cheryl’), we toasted to Cassie’s impending nuptials and finding the love of her life. As Kate, one of her bridesmaids, rightly said – there is nothing better than when you see someone who you love finding someone that makes them so happy. The obligatory champagne and orange juice was poured and we raised to her future happiness.

We chatted and played some more games, before Cassie opened her gifts and was delighted to receive lots of goodies for her up-and-coming new kitchen.

I had such a good time, it reminded me of my own bridal shower two years ago and I was very sad that I couldn’t have mine over again!

So to you Cass – not long now, we’re so excited to be there on your special day and don’t forget to make the most of the next few weeks – time will fly by and it’ll be here before you know it!
