Christmas Do at Sirromet Winery
Yesterday was my staff Christmas Party at Sirromet Wines.
Starting off with a fantastic 10-year anniversary at Marcus Beach with my family, a trip to the winery was the perfect event to finish off a lovely weekend.
We gathered on the lawn amongst the music and sunshine and enjoyed a lovely afternoon of bubbles, nibblies and friendly banter.
My sister-in-law, Cassandra, and her husband Tom were married at Sirromet Winery back in April, and the location was every bit as beautiful as I remember it.
The award winning winery is located at Mt Cotton, just half an hour south of Brisbane, and features 800 hectares of vines, a 5 star restaurant, and an incredibly popular cellar door where wine tastings are available for a small price, along with a tour of the impressive processing shed. The grounds are sprawling and welcoming, in a refined outback kind of way.
Unfortunately the season for vines is not upon us, so I didn’t take many photos of the scenery. Why would I need to when I had the best things right in front of me?
My colleagues and I were situated in the glorious sun at the Cellar Door end of things, and enjoyed numerous (and generous!) tasting plates, including cute mini salads, meatballs, charcuterie, and a plethora of seafood, just to name a few! We were well and truly stuffed by the end of it, and at only $38 a head (not including drinks) we definitely got our moneys worth. The only thing that could have made it better was having our drinks delivered to us, but alas we had to get out of our comfy spots to trek to the bar. The staff were so friendly however, that we forgot all our woes as soon as we arrived.
I had a bit too much sun unfortunately, but the sparkling reds, whites and rosé did a lot to help with this!
I would definitely recommend Sirromet for your next casual drinks. Where did you go for your staff party?
